7/31/18 - Estacada, OR

We left Portland today and drove to Mt. Hood National Forest near Estacada, Oregon.  We got a site at a Forest Service campground on the Clackamas River.  We unhooked and went for a drive and stopped at Ripple Creek Camp Store.  We bought an ice cream there.  As we were sitting there a couple of girls drove up in a jeep.  They were nearly out of gas.  The store clerk told them they were about 26 miles from the nearest gas station.  I overheard the conversation and told Jim.  We got out and gave them gas from our gas can to get them out of the forest.  We went back to camp and played games outside and ate supper.
