9/8/18 - Mt. Ranier National Park, WA

This morning we drove to Sunrise Point.  The clouds were so low you couldn’t see anything beyond the road. It was 42 degrees at the summit.  We were in shorts and had to change to pants and a long sleeve shirt at the visitor center.  It was too cloudy to make any hike worthwhile.  You could not see any scenery.  We had a cup of coffee at the restaurant and then went to the White River picnic area.  After lunch we walked on part of the Wonderland Trail over the White River.  The clouds dissipated a little and we got a better view of the scenery.  On the way back to camp we hiked the Grove of the Patriarchs Trail and Silver Falls Trail.  Jim made a campfire for us tonight.
