10/8/18 - Las Cruces, NM

When we woke up today the sky was clear.  We hooked up the trailer and drove to Las Cruces, NM.  Before we reached Las Cruces it had started to rain and was really cold.  After getting our site, we had to change into jeans.  We went to High Desert Brewing where Jim had a bowl of green chili stew.  It was really hot.  I had a soft warm pretzel with green chili queso.  It was pretty warm too.  We talked to some locals at the bar and they suggested a place for us to have dinner tonight.  One lady told us about the Double Eagle Restaurant in Old Messila that has good green chili wontons.  On the patio was a man and his dog.  The dog was drinking some of his beer.  We went to Double Eagle Restaurant and had some wontons and a cucumber chili margarita at the bar.  This old historic building is supposed to be haunted.  It has beautiful chandeliers.  We walked a couple of blocks to Andele’s Dog House and had Mexican food for dinner.  Jim ate all of his but it was too hot for me.  I brought leftovers back to the Casita and I will make a breakfast burrito for him in the morning by adding scrambled eggs.
