Well, today there were no cancellations and no vacancies in the other Portland area campgrounds. We decided to just leave Portland and go to the KOA in the
Albany/Corvallis area. Jim calls KOA –
Kamping on Asphalt. Mom thought KOA was
a radio station and wondered why every town had the same station letters. We all laughed when we explained to her. After getting a site at the KOA we drove to Block
15 Brewing in Corvallis and then walked around the downtown area. A downtown park follows the bank of the
Willamette River. Then we walked around
to look at the shops in town. We came
upon Sky High Brewing. This is a four
story building with a roof top deck with a view of the surrounding area. We stopped at Flat Tail Brewing before
walking back to the truck and going back to camp. The KOA is full tonight and this area does not have a burn
ban. The smoke in camp is pretty thick.
