8/2/18 - Rhododendron, OR
We got up at 6:30 this morning to go to a
trailhead for the most hiked trail in the area. It is a 1.5 mile hike up to Mirror Lake where you can get a great
picture of Mt. Hood. We got there at 8:00
and the parking lot was almost empty. When we
left at 11:00 there were people waiting to get a parking space. Then we drove to Trillium Lake and took more
pictures of Mt. Hood. To me this was
the prettiest place to get a picture and you didn’t even have to hike an hour
to see it. Then we went to Timberline
Lodge. This lodge was constructed by
the W.P.A. in 1937. We took a free tour
led by a Forest Ranger. Afterwards, we went to Government Camp again and had a
beer at Mt. Hood Brewing. I cooked
supper and then we sat outside for awhile.
