8/3/18 - Rhododendron, OR

The water at camp is light brown.  We didn’t want to put it in our holding tank.  We have been flushing the toilet and washing dishes with it.  We have a little fresh water and we have been using that to drink.  This morning a Zigzag fireman came through camp in his truck, making sure no one has a campfire burning.  This area is under a burn ban.  There is a $5,000.00 fine if you're caught lighting one.  Jim asked the fireman if there was a place to get some water around here.  He told us to go to the fire station and use their hose.  We did.  Now we are good for about 3 days.  We went to the market in Rhododendron for a few groceries.  We are camping at Tollgate campground -- this is a place on the Oregon Trail where you had to pay a toll to pass by.  We walked to a replica of the one that was here.  We sat outside for a while and enjoyed camp and then we went to Mt. Hood Brewing again. Jim called Allen to go over our mail and we watched the CFL (Canadian Football League) on TV.  Johnny Manziel was in his debut game with the Montreal Alouettes. They lost to the Hamilton Tiger-Cats 50 - 11.  We went back to camp and had supper.
