8/5/18 - Rhododendron, OR

This morning we had the fresh blackberries on our cereal. Then we drove into Welches to a coffee shop to use their Wi-Fi to update the blog.  We are about 5 days behind due to us not having internet at camp.  I got a few more groceries next door and a birthday card to send to my son.  (Rhododendron, Zigzag and Welches are all in about a 3 mile section of road. You can’t tell when you run out of one and into another.)  We went back to the Casita for lunch.  Around 2:30 we drove to Little Zigzag Falls trailhead.  This is a one mile roundtrip easy hike.  At the falls a man showed us a Huckleberry bush.  We had seen them before and they looked like small blueberries.  We wouldn't eat any because we really didn’t know what they were.  We picked a few and ate them this time.  We played a few games of beanbag toss.  Jim bought this travel game before we left.  It folds up to save space.  Jim grilled a rib eye steak for us tonight.  It was really tasty.
