9/22./18 - Fort Stevens State Park, Hammond, OR
It rained off and on all night. After we got up we watched an old movie and
I warmed up the leftover breakfast in the microwave. We went into Astoria and had a beer at Astoria Brewing Tap
House. There was a cruise ship in town
and lots of people were walking the streets.
We talked to some people at Astoria Brewing who were on the cruise ship
and lived in the Dallas area. Jim
wanted to watch the UT/TCU game so he found a sports bar with lots of TVs and
they put it on for him. I walked to the
Chamber of Commerce to turn in a beer trail card that we had stamped at all of
the breweries. They gave us two pint
glasses. I walked back to the sports
bar via the boardwalk along the shoreline.
I finished watching the football game with Jim -- UT won. We went to Costco and Walmart and then back
to camp. The clouds finally parted
today and we sat outside for a while. I
think all campsites have a fire burning tonight and the smoke here is almost as
bad as it was from the forest fires.

Sounds much like our time at fort Stephens. Smoke and the smell of burning garbage.
