10/1/18 - Carson City, NV
Today we drove to Carson City, Nevada. We got a campsite at Washoe Lake State
Park. Just before entering the state
park, a horse walked into the road and we had to stop. He went to the bathroom in the middle of the
road and then walked back into the grass.
We got a really nice site with a clear view toward the mountain and the
lake. Then we drove into town to Fox Brewpub.
Across the street is the Nevada Senate & House Building and next
door is the State Capital. We walked
through both of them. We got to see the
original vault in the Secretary of the Treasury’s office. After that we went to
Shoe Tree Brewing where we talked to three local men who were sitting at the
bar. One of them was a combat medic in
Vietnam with the 82nd Airborne.
He also has a band with his wife called the Naked Mountain Hippies. It’s always fun to meet people when we are
traveling. We made a stop at Walmart
before returning to camp.
