9/29/18 - Rocky Point, OR
Today we drove to see Lava Beds National
Monument. As we neared the park we were
able to see Mount Shasta in the distance.
This park has lots and lots of lava tube caves that you are able to
explore. We only went to the one next
to the visitor center that was lighted.
We took a hike up Schonchin Butte to a CCC building that is used as a
fire lookout. We made a couple of stops
along the park road and went to Petroglyph Point. Jim stopped and took pictures of white pelicans in Tule Lake
Wildlife Refuge. We drove back to
Kalamath and went to Klamath Basing Brewing.
I also talked to Martha today and left messages for Amelia. Today both of them have birthdays.
